I’m definitely a bookworm. Whenever I become interested in something new, I run out and get every book I can on the topic and immerse myself in it. So I thought I’d share a few of the many books that I’ve read on baby-related topics.
Getting Ready for Baby: The Ultimate Organizer for the Mom-to-Be - This was my manual for planning for my daughter's arrival. It gives you a great checklist so you know exactly what items to register for and purchase. There are lots of checklists (baby-proofing, interviewing care providers, etc.) that we found to be incredibly helpful.
The Mother of All Baby Books - This book offers basic advice on how to care for your baby through the first year. It also includes a large section on recovering from pregnancy. It's a great resource for first time parents.
Your Baby's First Year - This book features a wonderful section on illnesses. We run to it whenever our daughter is displaying any sort of symptoms of illness. It quickly helps us to decipher the likely cause of her discomfort and gives us helpful suggestions for making her feel better quickly.
What to Expect: The First Year - this was a great resource for me. It's the closest thing I can find to a user manual for children. It gave me all the information I needed to know on how to take care of my daughter when we brought her home, especially when it came to things like her first tummy ache and first fever.
What to Expect: The Toddler Years - the follow-up to The First Year, continues to be a great resource. The minute we run into something new (teething, potty training, etc.) we run for this book.
I hope that you find these to be helpful books for you to read as well, and I'd love to hear which books you found to be helpful along the way. Happy reading!
